So ends my little drivels!

Well, school starts this Monday, which is less than what– two or three more days? So yeah, back to my regular routine and away with the bumming around the house (or… bumming around other people’s houses haha). But it’s alright though, it’s gonna give me something to do <3 Call me a bit crazy, but I miss the adrenaline rush to finish assignments on time and get everything done and presented properly. I’m sad though, that my ILLUSTRATION lecturer LEFT D: For good. He was a good teacher and a nice person (nevermind the fact that I was scared witless of him at first).

The Gang™’s back however, so that means an even crazier semester, since a little bird told me that the two bumbling drunks would be staying for a while longer (much love to you Indy and Obi).

I’ve been doing some MAJOR hanging out this past week(s). Stayed over to pick up said bumbling drunks, registered for the new semester, then went over for RIYA’s 18th birthday! It was awesome haha. Went with Reza, Diva, Shaun, Ezaty, Ahmad, Indra and his friend Hakim :) Had dinner at TGI Friday’s in Sunway first, where RiRi had to go through a pretty cute song and dance number to celebrate her legal coming of age-ness (and we had cheesecake for the birthday cake AND dessert for everyone haha). Food was amazing, then headed out to Republic later on. Went back around… midnight I think? Slept over at Div’s place till the morning, which brings me back here <3

WILL be posting up pictures once I get them from the sexy Diva (who… I forgot to ask it from when leaving her place, her legs were feeling really bad when she woke up).

Still going strong with Mr. Cherry On Top, hell, I think even stronger :D Glad to have found a total sweetheart, the wait was definitely worth it >w<

Of Lovers and Luck gone Wrong

So yesterday was Friday the 13th, wishing all those who managed to survive it a big, resounding “Congrats”. To those who didn’t get off so lucky, well… there’s always next time? ;D But I guess color me jaded and perhaps a wee bit cynical that I don’t necessarily believe in these things.

Today’s no exception; today of course, being the elusive Valentine’s Day that makes a fool of anyone. Why yes, I guess one could say I’m no firm believer in days like these (’taken’ status or no). I am celebrating, however, that I’ve got a nice family, amazing friends who’re there by my side and that there are people who’re looking out for me and caring for me. It’s a celebration of love, people, and I’d hate to limit it to a certain guy. It wouldn’t be fair to my besties who’ve stood the test of time or my family who always knew better (and I tried to argue with it).

I find it silly people are willing to shell out their hard earned $$$ for roses, cards, teddy bears and chocolates, how they treat their ’someone special’… well, special. I’ve never been a believer of those things, because I, for one, believe that real romance comes from the heart, and its something that shouldn’t be shortchanged with material things. A bouquet of hand picked red roses from France which costed a bomb, an expensive Tiffany ring, followed by an expensive dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant (in a rented limo), ending the night with a box of Godiva chocolates, a kiss goodnight with your best aftershave/perfume and a cutesy little teddy bear to seal the deal screams all sorts of romantic to a lot of people.

But honestly though, to me? Most romantic evening would be cuddling up on the couch, watching a hillarious movie, blanket wrapped around and the pair of us just talking about nothing till 3am. People are wired differently, therefore ideas of romance are different :D

Never the less though, I hope everyone had a good day today :)

To my girlfriends, thank you for always being there to be the chattering, giggly things I’ve come to know and love. Despite our initial negative impressions of each other, I’m glad we’ve managed to overlook that haha. You girlies are major major fun to hang out with, be it in The Plaza™, Cyberia or Times Square This goes out to Alia, Dhahma, Riya, Alia, Diva, Zaty and all y’all fab girlies <3

To my studs, thanks for being crazy fun to be with, from your crazy man jokes to your lighter antics (because you know, The Plaza™ can be boring too) to all sorts of crazy stories from the night before. Mad, Shaun, Indra, Indy, Obi, Steve, thanks for the company and being awesome friends.

Oh and not forgetting Mr. Cherry-On-Top, despite my initially cruel and cynical post up there, I care for you loads, my god :D I find it funny people are forever afraid to approach you, because you’re one of the warmest guys I’ve met; you’ve been there when I needed you, been the best company a girl could ask for and you tell the best jokes too <3 Above all though, your honesty and loyalty are two of the hardest things to find in a man, and here you are, showing it all off to me X)

A daytrip to Sillypore!

I regret not bringing my camera along with me on my trip to The Fine City/Island/Country of Singapore™, because I’ve seen some of the lulziest things there. Like how, upon arriving to the Immigration building, there’s a huge sign that reads out what’s BANNED and ILLEGAL in Singapore; guns, explosives and the ever classic CHEWING GUM. Of all things, am I right?

So anyway, I think my little two day trip to Singapore made me a little bit more thankful and grateful of Malaysia. I know I jest and jeer about the mother land here in my blog, but in all honesty, it’s a lot better than Singapore (and you don’t even have to try very hard to do that).

We went there by train, just to spice things up and good lord, I’m glad we managed to get 1st class berths/compartments back and forth, because I honestly do NOT want to share breathing space with strangers ; w; Call me what you want, but it IS a little unnerving. Besides, I like the idea of a little privacy (and my own bathroom, lol!).

I DID NOT ENJOY THAT IMMIGRATION OFFICE BEFORE THE CAUSEWAY HOWEVER >:( Sweet mother of Jesus and Mary, it was so cold that the moment I ENTERED I was already SHIVERING and I had a nice comfy wool cardi on my back D: Held there for 45 minutes or so, egad, no food or drinks allowed and we were all assembled into this room under CCTV :\

Got there about 8am, which is earlier than expected haha. But yeah, had a nice breakfast at the hotel, because even though I could deal with the 3-in-1 mixed coffee they served on the train, I don’t care much for cubed up sawdust they pass off for cake :p Oh yes, I am a foodie

Chatted a bit with some of the people my dad had to meet and since we had an ENTIRE day to kill (we had to be at the station by 9.30 at night to catch our train back), so we headed to Vivo City and Harbourfront. Which, honestly, isn’t a bad place to shop, they’ve got a lot better variety than what Malaysia usually offers (I wish I had the money to get myself Burberry’s The Beat scent). I couldn’t get everything I wanted though and couldn’t manage to get anything back for anyone outside my immediate family XD

What really surprised me about Singapore was their sense of timing. My dad and I were at two said malls at what? 11am and most of the shops and restaurants haven’t even opened yet, save for a few stalls here and there.  Malls in the States, even in Malaysia, open at maybe 9am or 10am at most, never later. Walked around for a while till we decided to catch’The Curious Case of Benjamin  Button’, which was a really interesting movie, aye?

So yeah, movie was lovely, had lunch at Modesto’s before that however. At about 4.30, we headed out of the theatres and I wanted to go back to buy a dress I saw in a shop display (but… the shop was closed and the lady next door told me to come back later since the owner stepped out for a while).

Another thing that irked me was the way the salespeople there behaved D:< I passed by this one stall FOUR times and these wee little people came up to me going, “MAY I ASK YOU A QUESTION? :D” to which I responded with a resounding “NO D:<”. Not impressing me, Singapore.

Worst one was when we got our shopping done, this WOMAN just came up to me, stopping me in my way, staring at me with her face and just burst out saying, “STOP! LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS!! :D” I guess she never gets the reaction I gave her, which was a confused look, a heavy blink and a shake of my head while moving on with my life,  because she seemed pretty surprised.

Heading down a level, this… this man I think, was trying to sell me CURLING IRONS. Singaporeans must not very good eyesight, or little to no common sense (I guess with the banning of chewing gum…) because it’s very hard to sell curling irons to a girl WHO HAS A HEAD FULL OF BIG VIVACIOUS SEXY CURLS. Hell, I’m KNOWN for my curls D: And here we go, this man-thing selling it to me.

I wasn’t very impressed at all.

What really got me laughing was a man trying to sell my DAD of all people beautiful dainty rings for Valentine’s Day, and he just brushed him off with, “Does it look like I need a pretty ring on my pretty finger?”. Salesman tried to justify it by saying that it could be for ‘your wife’ and pointed to me.

I didn’t know 50-year-old women wore tight jeans and university labels on her :| Oh Sillypore!

While I don’t think so much for Malaysian driving skills, at least getting in a taxi here doesn’t have you brushing with death every so often. I mean honestly, the way some of the driver’s there go through their routes is… pretty scary D:

I managed to survive it though, and I couldn’t recall a more happier day when I landed in the Kajang station, knowing I was in the land that made proper roti canai and don’t skimp on the sugar in the drinks ; w;

I meant no offense to any and all Singaporeans out there XD

I have never been so ashamed of my own kind…

So I’m heading off the Singapore tomorrow night. It’s nothing more than a simple day trip, but I haven’t been there in a while and my dad offered to go with him, so why not eh? Besides, I hear the shopping is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Gonna pick up a few things for Fizzy, The Gang™ and my girls! Just small things though but I’ll make it special.

Today was a fairly interesting day, I guess. This morning we got a letter from a police department ALL the way in SHAH ALAM. Since we were heading out anyway, my dad and I decided to settle it one short. Anyway, got there and it turned out it was from this deranged woman that we had a mere brush with, what? LAST MONTH?

Turns out she made a police report against us D: Why? You tell me. As far as I can recall, the woman came from the left side, JAMMED on her brakes and forced us to stop suddenly and my dad sounded the horn at her. She parks her car out in the middle of an already congested road, gets out, inspects her car and, you won’t believe this, circles our car like a diseased vulture and KNOCKS on the windows and windscreens, supposedly to talk to us. But my parents wrote her off as crazy and just ignored her. She drove off after that and we forgot about it then. UNTIL NOW.

She argued with me and my dad in the station RIGHT in front of the cop (well, actually, both of us were keeping pretty quiet and seemingly had no intention to talk to each other, but then her SON of all people, butted in). Every time I tried to explain our side of the story, she and her son would interrupt me and just make a ruckus. I also told her that it was a small matter that honestly didn’t need reporting, because if it was just a small ding on her bumper, she could just clean it off with some spit and a hanky. But no, she’s outright claiming that we jumped a right, came in from the left and hit her D: FAIL MUCH!

The cop that was in charge here took pictures while both of us were making reports and statements and it clearly showed that our car had no damage what so ever, though hers had scratches with WHITE PAINT ON IT (however, our car was BLUE). She was being such a fail!bitch I swear D: She even shot her mouth off and said that she was being ‘calm’ and gently ‘tapped’ on the windows to gesture for us to come down and talk. Well, you should’ve had us roll the windows down instead :\ And I don’t recall any gentle tapping, more like brazen annoyed knocks on windscreen AND windows.

I honestly cannot believe there are people out there who are both dumb AND daring; it should be made illegal to have such low brain cell count and go around with blissful ignorance. And arrogance too. The way she spoke today was just so condescending and nasty. Women ARE petty and I can’t believe I’m saying that I’m honestly ashamed on women’s behalf that we have members of our specimen behaving so haughtily and arrogantly.

Lately, I’ve been busy.
I mean, VERY, VERY busy. So busy it makes 14th century laborers blush with shame, no seriously!

So we’ve been doing home improvements around the house, starting with the bathrooms. Now that we’re done with that, we’re now working on my bedroom, which was, as of three days ago, a cluttered mess with a plethora of junk, partly thanks to my rat-pack mom. I could understand keeping a few key pieces if they were honestly that sentimental; my mom has kept a few things from my much theorized infancy such as baby shoes and the god-awful frilly dresses that caught my wee attention span. There are also the literal MOUNTAINS of letters and gifts from friends who are now conveniently separated all over the globe (I could never let go of those, they bring many silly smiles across my face). But back on tangent, it was a room that was filled with more things that we could handle, and it felt like such a renewal process, getting rid of old clothes that lay forgotten by the wayside, giving away old purses and bags, bedlinen and some accessories that I no longer use to relatives, just keeping the things I really need and want. It seems like I really don’t use a lot haha, but I managed to fill up my new wardrobe with some space to spare for shopping sprees ;)

Logically, when the family thinks of getting anything new for the house, it’s a straight dash to IKEA (yes, at Ikano Power Center in Damansara haha), no questions asked. Nevermind the KL traffic, nevermind the fact that the place is always mysteriously full of sudden furniture shoppers, we go anyway. My room’s not terribly big, just a mere 10′ x 10′, leaving only so much space for my sister and I, so IKEA made all the more sense. Managed to paint up the room too, thank god, those walls were begging for a new coat! Painted 3 of the walls the standard white color, while the ‘focus wall’ is painted a light AQUA, accented by some reds and whites here and there :> Like our new fancy red sofa bed! So yeah, getting some white wall shelves to display our obnoxious trophies and collectables. Pictures when I get it done, no ‘before’ pictures though, because I’m just that embarassed by my bedroom’s previous incarnation haha.

Though it is starting to look like something out of the IKEA showrooms though haha. And hey, I can’t hate IKEA for all its worth though, because I just love the food there as well!

Was supposed to go with TAREEQ to the Seri Suria Alumni Reunion thinger today, but I got caught up with this instead :p That and I really don’t care much for the people I knew back then, except for maybe two? Haha, wow I’m mean :p

I’m rambling, I’m gonna go sleep on my amazing new bed <3

Katie’s in the house, dolls!

So, it was a really random buy, I’m gonna admit, but here I am, typing on my super sexy new Dell Latitude E6500 laptop, who I just simply call as ‘Katie’ >w< She’s such a good girl, but mang, I wish I could get my Photoshop working on here properly DX Oh, the angst; an art student deprived of her art programs! Though I think I’ll snatch Indy’s Corel Painter whenever he gets back :’D

It’s got a 15.4″ screen, high resolution (1900 x 1200), dual processors, steel casing, handy little webcam and all sorts of awesome specs. Which you can read up on the Dell website, if you’re so interested. I know a lot of people might question my taste in using a Dell, but honestly, I’ve never had a problem with the brand before :) Also, part of it comes from using the machine responsibly >w< It’s no Macbook or anything fancy, but Katie’s gonna see me through the rest of my days in Uni, because God knows how I managed to go through 3 entire semesters without one (ok, sure, it’s not neccessarily a requirement, but I hate borrowing other people’s computers and I’m not as resourceful as Mr. Fizzy).

Saw him a couple days ago, which is always nice X) Meant to go and get his license ready but the girlie at IMKEDA told us the next batch will be coming on… 2nd February? Something about the Chinese New Year celebrations, which, I don’t know why it always takes so LONG >_> But hey, if I was in school right now, I wouldn’t be complaining. Anyway, spent a bit of time with him and headed back out later in the afternoon. Talked to Indy when we got to Fizzy’s place, and I guessed we should’ve called a little later, because apparently he had just gone to bed when we did haha. But it was nice talking to him again, even if he was tired and couldn’t remember half of what he said. Mr Neo Hippie managed to sneak in a couple more gifts to me (including one more when he saw me the other day, but I’ll include details when I feel a little bit more talkative haha).

Nothing much on the art front, but I do have one or two images in my head the desperately need getting out, might remedy that sooner or later. Or when I feel less lazy. I think I need to head back to school and actually feel like I’m doing something productive, house chores just make me angry for some reason and I avoid it whenever.

Besides, bumming around the house is never fun, especially when I have certain parties leering at me about going out so often. Sure, certain party does intend well, but *sigh* there’s only so much nagging and complaining I can stand, most especially when the deciding factor on whether I go out or not is because I’m ‘a girl’.

I think I’ve noticed that for a while now ;)

LOVE!

Back to Black, of the Russian persuasion, please.

Determination, let me show you it :>

Anyway, how’s everyone? The end of the month is coming (in a matter of a week or so) and that means my fourth semester is coming up, which is always nice to hear. It’s not so much that I actually miss the school, I miss the atmosphere; hanging out at Wings/The Plaza for NO reason, seeing friends, rushing assignments, calling lecturers and having a good bitch about them over drinks, ahh good times. Not to mention the untimely concerts and fashion shows, which draws both scorn and admiration from the student population (scorn, because the acoustics in The Plaza are not to be desired. Admiration because, hey, it’s a show of pretty young thangs walking down the runway at you/surly young men sweating it out over the guitars) :’D Good times.

I’ve been listening to a lot of black music lately, lots of Rasta/roots/hip-hop/motown influenced things, which is a complete switch from my usual dosage of rock (variety is the spice of life). I’ve been listening to “The Seed (2.0)” by The Roots over and over again; there’s something about the lyrics, the beat, ahhh~ it’ll be stuck in my head for a while, this I can guarantee you.

I find it strange that I’ve been getting a lot of pingbacks from Russian blogs/sites O_o; Most of them are bots that come with standardized replies. I don’t mind them pinging/linking back, it’s the comments that annoy me, because if it’s not some redundant one-liner in horrible English, it’s a link to these questionable sites. More so that I have to clean them out of my inbox DX

Went out yesterday with my mom, accompanying her on an errand and while bouncing around the not-very-terribly-exciting Tesco, I managed to find this little gem:

BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL

Apparently, they’ve changed the store around and are now selling some classic, top-notch games for the PC :> So yes, my copy thar is for the good ol’ compy and hey, since this discovery, I can imagine my siblings behaving a little better when accompanying parents for the errand, eh? XD

Hey loves :> Been having bouts of The Sims 2 (which explains the header at the top of this post here) and driving what little energy or will I have left, throwing screenshots from the game into Photoshop and turning them into graphics that would make a scene kid blush.

Not much has gone in the way of activity for me, other than hanging out with returning friends and painting the town red. I saw the ab-fab RIYA yesterday, much fun, hanging out with Reza, Shaun, Mad and two of their friends (whose names I didn’t manage to catch!). Fun, as in stoner movies and breaking pieces off bass guitars :p

Today, caught up with Fizzy and a few others, which is always, always nice, because I *love* that boy’s mind and the conversations we have. We go from mature and philosophical to childish and petty the next, haha. Peppered with some scantilating humor and a dose of black/dry humor > w> He told me about his trip to Myanmar, showed me pictures, really nice :> If he had asked me waaaay before hand, I wouldn’t have minded and gone along with him (parental units seem to approve of the idea when I casually brought it up).

My seeing him, however, did not have me empty handed though!

Elaborate, heavy, colorful and straight from the heart :> Definitely a perfect gift XD And that silly bird was worried about me not liking it, pshaw

Was definitely a good day though :> For a while I was sitting around the house practically moping how I wasn’t really doing anything (I wasn’t!) and how I wanted to go out more often. It’s something of a dying wish, you see; when I first got my license and a car of my own, I thought how insanely cool it would be to drive out whenever I so pleased and see my friends and have a blast out in the town or in the hidden corners of Cyberjaya. But… reality is radically different than fiction :p Often times, I’d forget that my friends were of the international persuasion, and thus, were often jetted back to their homelands. Those who were local usually made plans with family/friends for trips (leaving me out of it).

I can’t say that the holidays haven’t gone without reason though; we’re doing some home improvements around the house (finally!) and there was a mention on fixing up bedroom, since we’re done with the bathrooms. I’m definitely gonna enjoy the trip out to IKEA, I know it’s silly, but I just love looking at the little show space in the stores and how everything’s set up. New furniture is always fun and now I’m getting that excitement without having to move out! Haha.

Also, the amazing thing about having a literate boyfriend is that, whatever he says on a whim or in his faux-philisophical highness, often times inspire me XD He’s done so already in the past.

Let’s see what happens, eh?

Love

The world SHOULD revolve around me!

So I was listening to this song by Little Jackie called ‘The World Should Revolve Around Me’, and seriously, I’m loving the Motown and Hip-Hop beats thrown together and making this rad new sound Mad props to them, definitely gotta watch out for these two!

Got new art up! Check it out:

Funny thing about this one, I got an SMS from a certain, notorious someone; being the lovable idiots that we are, we exchanged messages in this faux, intimidating, death-has-warmed-over Romeo and Juliet deal.

Then I started sketching this out and just finished it all in one sitting :v
I realize I stopped with the whole refined lineart for my more personal works, the drawing flows SO much better this way and I can be messy and sloppy all I want, you don’t know how satisfying it is to see the work come together so nicely :>

Though, despite enjoying getting comments on my piece, I really second guess myself whenever I post on the CF boards. Most of the members there are nice, it’s just that there are two certain parties there who THRIVE on negativity; always critisizing the pic without actually telling the artist what’s wrong, how it can be fixed and instead, go straight to slamming the artist for not being good enough (when they’re mediocre artists themselves).

Ah, the other side of Malaysians. Oh well, any publicity, is good publicity as they say XD

Ohai! I get to keep my scholarship, so that’s always a good thing :D

So the system wasn’t wrong, it turns out :\ I got my result slip today and they seem to keep within the regular 4-point grading system, the numbers I got alongside the grades, were actually all the credits I got within the module. Which, by the by, I scored full marks on all the credits in all my modules, meaning I passed rather well, I was just off the mark by literally, less than a quarter. Sucks loads, but my mom and I are going down tomorrow to see what we can do about this. I’m going to stay positive, though, wish me all the best guys!

IN OTHER NEWS…
Wanted to go to Youth09, meet up with some cool peeps and old friends but… bleh, I didn’t! But we’re slowly doing some home improvements around the house, getting rid of old furniture and fixing things up. We’re starting with the bathrooms and I have to say, giving the entire place a good scrub down makes it so much different, we even gave it a new coat of paint just because XD Can’t wait for the whole house to be finished up :>

Next up is my room, was thinking of painting the room a bluish-green, with some wall decals from WhatIsBlik.com :>

So yes, some very awesome stuff, they can be removed and placed elsewhere if/when you need to and they come with a really nice price. I’m looking at Undoboy’s Dreamland, 8-bit Sprites and Space Invaders, definitely looking forward to this

Oh hey and fashion spoils, can’t recall if I mentioned this, but a while back I went to MidValley with my mom and brother for ‘just-because-we-can’ shopping’ and I found myself this cute little dress from Niichi

Absolutely love dresses :>

Till next time…
